Emmett Loughran has directed live television from golf courses to the Metropolitan Opera, working alongside legends like Don Olmeyer, Gary Halverson, and Lou Horvitz along the way. His path started with a good radio voice in high school and grew through years sitting beside both screamers and calm, collected directors, absorbing by osmosis what made each one effective.

Emmett Loughran is a veteran television director with decades of experience directing live golf broadcasts, the Metropolitan Opera, Carnegie Hall performances, and MTV Unplugged. He began his career as a camera operator and technical director before transitioning into directing, learning from a roster of mentors that includes Don Olmeyer, Gary Halverson, Lou Horvitz, and Glenn Weiss. He continues to direct both live sports and entertainment productions broadcast around the world, bringing the same disciplined, team-first approach to a golf tournament as he does to a live opera.
