I've spent over twenty years in a classroom teaching photography and video production — first in K–12, then at the college level, then back in K–12 again. That's the part of my life I lead with. Everything else came after, or alongside, or because of that.
Where It Started
Before most of my students were born, I was already behind a camera at CNN. Three Olympics. The World Cup. The Masters. Three Super Bowls. Twenty US Opens followed. The gear changed a dozen times over since then. What mattered on the sideline never did, doing great work.
Teaching first, but for what it's worth: a B.A. and an M.Ed., 20+ years teaching, K–12 & Higher Ed. My proudest achievements? Dozens of former students sprinkled all over the media landscape doing great work.
Where I Am Now
These days you're more likely to find me on the sideline of an MLS match, or with students who just want to get better. Same instinct. Same questions. Zoom With Our Feet is where we learn Decisions, Control, Anticipation and Positioning.
No jargon. No gear worship. Just technique, practice, and honest teaching.
